Green Green ha luogo nelle campagne nipponiche, nell'isolato liceo prettamente maschile di Kanenone Gakuen (letteralmente in inglese "Il suono della accademia Campania"). fin da allora, le femmine non erano incluse, e la scuola era prettamente "l'ultimo paradiso rimasto per uomini sulla Terra". La scuola Kanenone da' inizio tramite consiglio scolastico, ad un esperimento, nella speranza di unire il collegio femminile a quello maschile. questo scatena le pulsioni femminili che divengono una "minaccia" per i ragazzi. Quando il bus contenente le ragazze arriva al Kanenone, una ragazza di nome Midori Chitose, diventa disinvolta e sessualmente eccitata, fino a saltare già dal mezzo, come impazzita, e abbracciando un ragazzo, Yuusuke, che lì per lì, rimane confuso e impietrito. chi sia Midori e come conosca così bene Yuusuke, è la domanda che ci si pone nell'immediato quando si vede la serie. La serie è centrata infatti, proprio su questa domanda, e sulle buffonate del Baka Trio. Yuusuke Takasaki (questo è il nome del protagonista maschile), è forse il capo dei maschi più normale della Kanenone. egli è amico del Baka Trio, ma senza mostrare come il Baka Trio, il suo lato perverso. a dispetto di questo, il Trio, considera Yuusuke un membro del gruppo, e solitamente egli trova loro costretti o trascinati loro malgrado, dentro situazioni e attivita' tutt'altro che sane. Yuusuke è coinvolto dal Trio ad essere la reincarnazione del ragazzo da racconto di amanti sfortunati che vengono menzionati all'inizio di ogni episodio, con Midori come sua partner. Tuttavia Yuusuke appare per avere una collezione del suo passato, e inizialmente risponde alle avances un po' provocanti di Midori, minacciando la sua indole da duro, e per detto motivo, a respingerla, ad allontanarla. solamente dopo aver ricordato le memorie passate, egli si innamora di Midori. Yuusuke trova se stesso però, nella compagnia peraltro gradevole ai suoi occhi, di Futaba Kutsuki. Nasce così il triangolo d'amore tra Yuusuke, Futaba e Midori, che divengono i personaggi principali della storia.


i personaggi: [SPOILER]Midori Chitose, the main female lead, is an outgoing and cheerful girl who seems to know Yuusuke before they actually been introduced and is in love with him. She seems willing to do anything for him, even filling out a form of perverted questions the Baka Trio gave her, hoping it will please Yuusuke. In the opening scene of the series, Midori narrates a tale about two people who were in love, but their love was forbidden at the time and they could not stay together. They promised each other to meet again in another life, hinting that Midori is the girl from the tale and somehow retained her memories, while Yuusuke is the boy from the tale, but he has not retained the memories of his past life. She is also noted to have D-cup breasts. She seemingly has no grasp at the effects some of her antics have wrought, such as climbing on top of a bedridden Yuusuke in the nurses' office while in lingerie, and hanging on to his arm after class ended. Her given name means "green" in Japanese, probably in reference to the name "Green Green".

Futaba Kutsuki: Futaba plays the role of the tough, boy-hating tsundere. Futaba has a younger sister, Wakaba. She is less than enthusiastic about the co-ed trial run of the schools, and acts as the self-appointed protector of the girls against the boys of Kanenone. She is particularly disgusted by the antics of the Baka Trio, and does not hesitate to resort to physical violence against them as punishment for their indiscretions. After the Baka Trio pulls a humiliating prank on her, she decides to leave Kanenone immediately on her own. She gets lost and injured in the woods but is rescued by Yuusuke, who carries her back to Kanenone. This act of kindness, along with an earlier display of chivalry by Yuusuke to protect her modesty, sparks feelings inside her for the boy, and Futaba soon finds herself falling in love with Yuusuke. The two become a couple in "Erolutions".
